Afternoon Nanny Needed – Hyde Park (Chicago)

A welcoming family in Hyde Park is looking for a reliable and engaging afternoon nanny for their two children — a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son.

The nanny will pick the children up from their respective schools and drive them home using the family’s car. Afternoons will include playing, reading, doing crafts, and enjoying other age-appropriate activities together. The family prefers to limit screen time and is hoping to find someone who enjoys being active and engaged with young kids.

If the parents are not home by 5:45 p.m., the nanny would also prepare a simple dinner for the children and help with the early evening routine.

Schedule:
Monday–Friday
2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Both children are adopted and are beginning to ask questions about their story. The family would love to find a nanny who is comfortable using adoption-positive language and supporting those conversations in a thoughtful, age-appropriate way.

Dad works from home about once a week and occasionally travels for work. Mom will be the main point of contact and is generally more available.
